Expressiones "Bridging the Americas" - Latin American Artist-in-Residence Program

Artists’ Enclave at I-Park

I-Park is pleased to announce its continuing collaboration with the New London (Connecticut) based Latin American community arts organization, Expressiones, in establishing two reserved residency sessions for Latin American artists in 2012. Visual artists from among the following countries are invited to apply for available 2012 residency slots under this program: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. Expressiones will be the curator, administrator and coordinator of this program.

Of the two accepted artists for 2012, the one receiving the highest jury score will receive a grant of $750 to help defray the cost of travel to the United States. Also, each of the two invited visual artists will be offered a gallery show and artist’s presentation at the Expressiones Cultural Center in New London, CT at some point during their residency session. One of the invited Expressiones artists will be scheduled to participate in I-Park’s October session and the other in November. Refer to the 2012 Calendar for exact dates. An application fee of $30 is required for this program.

Please Note: The Expressiones program is for visual artists only. Latin-American artists working in other fields are welcome to apply directly to the I-Park residency program through the I-Park website. However, the application deadline for I-Park programs April 29, 2012.
